Is EyeQ a full EHR replacement or an add-on?

EyeQ is being built as a complete optometry EHR and all-in-one practice operating system: a replacement for outdated and fragmented systems, not an add-on or companion that only works beside your current EHR. Some capabilities (for example live clearinghouse claims or live eRx networks) still require integration and are labeled accordingly.

Who is EyeQ for?

Independent optometry practices and small groups that want one connected platform for clinical care, imaging, scheduling, patient communication, billing workflows, operations, and analytics. Patients use the portal for free; the practice owns the membership.

What works in the Practice Demo today?

The demo covers scheduling, patient charts, documentation drafts, imaging review support, prescriptions, portal, front desk flow, optical and inventory views, billing drafts, reputation drafts, and AI tools with provider-review labels. Demo data is synthetic only. Features that need a vendor connection are marked Requires integration.

How do we migrate from our current system?

EyeQ helps practices move from their current system through structured data import, workflow configuration, staff onboarding, validation, and launch support. We do not promise specific legacy EHR connectors unless a vendor path is configured for your practice. Patient import is the writable path in validation today; more entity writers ship over time.

Does AI make clinical decisions?

No. EyeQ is AI-assisted. Copilot, scribe, and imaging review support produce drafts for provider review. Providers make final clinical decisions. AI never signs notes or releases clinical content to patients on its own.

What does a typical day look like in EyeQ?

Front desk schedules and checks patients in. Technicians and providers work the same patient chart and imaging timeline. Providers document, review AI drafts, sign notes, and manage prescriptions. Optical and inventory stay tied to the visit. Owners see operations, readiness, and financial drafts in one place.

Can I say hello to EyeQ Copilot?

Yes. Generic Copilot chat such as greetings and workflow questions works in non-PHI mode without opening a patient chart.

Does Copilot send patient data to OpenAI?

Patient-identifiable chart context is not sent to AI vendors until your practice completes vendor BAAs and PHI readiness checks. Generic Copilot questions that do not open a patient chart can still work without sharing PHI.

Can AI sign notes or send patient messages?

No. AI can draft. Providers review and sign. Patient messages use the portal and still need confirmation before send.

Is Practice Demo real PHI?

No. Practice Demo and sandbox seeds use synthetic / test-only markers. Do not enter real patient information into demo or simulation environments.

Is EyeQ HIPAA / ONC / FDA certified?

EyeQ does not claim HIPAA compliant, ONC certified, or FDA cleared status on this site. Counsel and vendor BAAs are required before live PHI.
